Overview
The name "La Connessa" means "connected," and the design lives up to this by acting as a social bridge in San Francisco's Potrero Hill. We envisioned a space that blends the vibrant energy of a Milanese café with a contemporary San Francisco sensibility—soaring, grand, and full of light.
Collaborators
Bacchus Management Group, SBB Design, Steven Hall Architect Inc., Greenwood Advisory, Rose Gold Society, OMR Commercial Seating and Hospitality Inc.
Scale

Outcome
Named among San Francisco's most beautiful restaurants by the SF Chronicle. Covered by Forbes and LUXE Interiors + Design. The L-shaped layout is anchored by a dramatic, long-faceted bar and a tall arched back bar that reaches toward the 20-foot ceilings. This focal point is softened by brass table lamps and the warm, flattering glow of oversized, floating chandeliers that ensure the grand volume remains intimate.

Designed in collaboration with Bacchus Management Group in Potrero Hill, San Francisco. The design challenge was scale — 20-foot ceilings that could have read cold. The solution was a stratified lighting plan, a dramatic L-shaped bar, and heritage materials that brought the room down to human scale without sacrificing the architecture.
